The newish Valentino pair, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, is definitely on the up! I do love and rever Signor Garavani, but it's also great to see that now he's retired and someone is doing great things to his label, updating it so that it appeals to the younger chic crowd. Some thing can't be said for Ungaro though, especially when there's a certain LiLo involved...

Errr... yeah I can totally see where the maestro is coming from. Literally. Like, the dress is soooo lunar couture right? Wonder what sniggering snide comments it'd cop if this dress rocks up on Project Runway?

N.B. I think the theme should actually be about bio-genetic gone wrong in a NASA lab on moon. Vlada looks like a mitochondrionic giraffe poking out from a konnyaku cell membrane. Now this is when the Japanese influence really steps in!

If I'm paying $800+++ for a stupid little jacket like this I would at least bloody want it to be bloody hemmed! I don't think that's fashion-forward. Nor do I think this is very clever, although Sarah Mower from VOGUE.com totally disagrees as our miss fashion journalist here thinks that Miuccia Prada is "one of fashion's great intellectuals". INTEL-bloody-LECTUAL??? I think not. I tell you what she is: she is a bloody con artist, a swindler that's what she is. Clothes with deliberately frayed edges - done by hand or not - is hardly something new in fashion, and our Saint Elbaz has proven collection and collection again that he incorporates the technique into his designs intellectually and chicly.

But sadly throngs of blinded women will just follow the hype listening to all these so-called fashion critics who constantly sneer from their blown-up pony and fork out good dosh to buy a piece of garment that is just simply silly and, more urgently, that does NOT look beautiful. When asked about this collection of hers, Miuccia Prada declared, "Optimism is a choice." WTF Mama Prada??!!! WTF!!!

First up, Prada. It seems like "everybody" loves this label. It's indeed one of the most well-known fashion labels in the world. The in crowds love it; the mere mortals know it; the wannabes, has-beens, never-has-beens crave for it. But why? It remains a speculation. The fashion journalists told us that the woman behind the label, the "eternally chic and elegant" Miuccia Prada "can never go wrong". Right, so we're told. But, I mean, look at her Spring 2008 RTW collection:

Will any "stylish fashioniatas" wanna wear them? I don't think so.
By the way, that's supposed to be the opening look. Ha!

I mean, what the hell are those exactly? And let's not even look at the price tags when they hit the shops. But apparently those people who are in the inner fashion circle would disagree. According to Sarah Mower on style.com, Miuccia Prada "is a woman who never loses the plot". I had to take a deep, cold breathe. Come on! I mean this collection has NOT got much plot to begin with! Such hypocrisy, such blindness, such dishonesty! I know Prada as a corporation is a very powerful conglomerate and there are so many things to consider (and censor) before a fashion media like Vogue/style.com would let any Prada-blasting piece of writing be published. And for sure the brand has done a lot of great stuff and contributea lot to the fashion world. But honey you gotta tell it as it is!!! Just look at the collection and review it honestly for Chanel's sake!!!

I can't stand all these so-called "professional fashion critics" saying crap like this. What a crock of bullshit!!!
